Consonant-Vowel-Consonant - CVC

CVC words are words that follow the letter pattern, consonant-vowel-consonant.

These are considered the simplest words and the starting point of many phonics programs (after some work on initial sounds).

These words highlight the short vowels in the middle of three letter words, such as the 'a' in cat, the 'e' in get, the 'i' in big, the 'o' in not, and the 'u' in but.

Play Guess What Word, Magic Memory or one of the many other Magic Words games to teach medial vowels in an exciting and hands on way.
